With Napa being hyped up so much on TV it was inevitable what the choice for the destination was to be for 2000. If you are looking for intense nightlife then Napa square is the place to be with many pubs and clubs packed into one area. R&B and Garage is the main flavour of music here but other types are also catered for with mainstream pop music and some 70's clubs like Starsky and Hutch which made a welcome change. The environment is very friendly with many nationalities mingling in the bars and streets. When we were there Euro 2000 was in full flow and the atmosphere with the Norwegians, Swedes and obviously the Brits in heavy attendance was fantastic. During the day there are plenty of trips available, Scuba courses and the usual banana boats and parascending. The beaches can get a bit packed in Napa and Protaras so take a short walk to find smaller beaches and coves which offer relaxing sun-spots and places to enjoy snorkeling. Places to eat are numerous with many different types of cuisine. Where we stayed in Protaras you can choose from traditional Cypriot restaurants to Chinese food and the usual English nosh.
